Koh Samui, being in the south of Thailand has two weather seasons: tropical and warm throughout most of the year with a short rainy season. The location of Samui means that, unlike Phuket, which has a 6-month rainy season from May to November, the weather on Koh Samui is dry for most of the year with the main rainy season confined to between October and December. Throughout the rest of the year, typical rain showers last 10 to 60 minutes.
